I have recently started gardening, I have always wanted to do it but I was always too busy with everything happening. Now with me being at home most of the time, I have started gardening and decorating the house with DIY objects.
I have always wanted to pick up cooking, but it was just one thing that never crossed my mind. Cooking is a skill that will never go out of style that one can use their entire life. Before, I could make a mean ramen noodle bowl, and I could throw a pizza in an oven. But I started making more meals like homemade burgers, and omelets. I'm slowly getting where I want to be.
I've been out of drawing and sketching for 2 years and I wanted to get back into it because of school and work. I'm starting to get back into it now, but there's only so much you can do with a paper and a pen. So, I may do the thing I had been dying to try, which is digital art and making murals. Picking out quotes or making them can be quite tricky but I do want to get somewhere with it in the future and this is a perfect time to start
I've always been interested in knife throwing. Since i have all the time I could ask for, I plan on improving my skill.
I've always been somewhat OCD, but since quarantine has started I have gotten even worse and find myself constantly cleaning my house. I spend most my days cleaning dinner parts or reorganizing.
I've always wanted to paint more so since I have a lot of time on my hands I have been working on some cool canvas paintings.
I have always wanted to cook more. My COVID break has helped me start it. So far it isn't going amazing. I made Teriyaki chicken, and added 3 times the amount of garlic needed. But you learn from your mistakes.
This COVID break has given me the opportunity to get back into horticulture. Over summer while I was in the hospital my entire collection of exotic (and not so exotic) plants weren't watered and died. It took me four years of research and care to get them to the point at which they were and once I realized they were all gone I decided I wouldn't get back into it until after college. However with all the free time I've had on my hands I was able to germinate 3 rainbow eucalyptus seeds and right now they are taking up most of my care. (besides my tortoise)
I don't really have any hobbies or projects, but COVID has given me a lot more time to spend with my family. Before, I was spending my day at school then going right to work. Now I get to do things like walks, dinner, and game night with my family.
While we have had the time off I have been able to really focus on my business without turning any client down due to a lack of time. I have been able to work all day and be productive with projects.
Being stuck at home has made me start baking more. I used to do it all the time in middle school, but haven't really done it since so it's a nice hobby to get back into.
I've always loved watching people do woodwork and just making things out of wood and this break has given me lots of time to try and focus on that and make something really cool.
I've always loved fishing but never really had the time with my schools and sports schedule. I have now been going at least twice a week and I love it. Although I rather be back in school, being able to fish everyday isn't that bad after all.
I have always wanted to get into baking and with all of the free time I have had, I have baked so many new things.
Being stuck at home at this time I finally broke out the paint brushes again and started painting. Then once the day is over I get to spend time with my family and have fun with them, because before my family would go 100 mph, we were always go go go.
With my time off I've been able to spend more time with my family and focus on my future. I've been reminiscing on old pictures and walking around outside enjoying nature. I have just really been breathing everything in and looking at the positives.
the biggest hobby i've been able to pick up on is sleep. lol but, i like to do any type of art so I have more time to let my creative side shine.
A lost hobby I've been picking up on is definitely getting back on art. It wasn't really lost for me but school was sucking the motivation out of me leaving me restless to do nothing but sleep, now with the corona I get to pick up back on my art and have even been completing more pieces than I have ever before. Right now I've been up to doing 4-2 art pieces a day fully colored and shaded.
Snap a picture of one & send it.
Ive always need to learn how to cook so im trying to teach myself with the free time i have.
I still work a lot but since I've been at home so much in my free time I've started drawing and painting again. I forgot how much I loved it. It clears my head and lets me express myself in a way that I couldn't with anything else.
I'm riding my bike more.
I've always wanted to get into cooking and baking. I work full time but I get every other weekend off. So on those days off I have learned how to bake some really interesting things! I have many recipes I'm looking forward to trying!
Something I've always wanted to be able to do is play the guitar and with the extra time I have started learning.
I really enjoy computer coding (I'm going to major in it in college), and I have had time to do it a lot the past month.
I used to enjoy reading and have gotten back into it recently.
One thing I really enjoy is cooking and the virus has allowed me to pick up more skills and learn more about it.
I really enjoy art and drawing and yea I take classes at school but for me, it's more enjoyable to do what I want and how I want to do it. Recently, I've been able to get back into it now that I have nothing else distracting me.
The idea of having unlimited ways to express myself is very intriguing to me, so learning languages has always been a passion of mine. Right now, I'm slowly progressing through Korean and while it is quite difficult, watching myself go from knowing absolutely nothing about the language to understanding small words and phrases is mind-blowing and awe-inspiring to me.
I have always wanted to play the guitar well, but I have never had much time to practice. During this quarantine I have been able to practice my guitar much more, and I have been improving a lot!
I have recently wanted to redo my bedroom and was loooking at insperation on Pinterest when I came across and wall decor piece that i was very inteested in. However, when i clicked on the link that took me to the site to buy the piece I was shocked to see a price of $950. I have always been very crafty and enjoy art as a hobby so I decided to make the piece myself. It is known as fabric art and was originally named macrame, but the piece I am interested in is a less traditional macrame and more classical or functional rather than boho-sheek.
Recently I've wanted to go through and organize my entire room to prepare me moving out to college and maybe downgrade the objects I've grown out of or don't use anymore.
I always want to learn to do a backflip so I learn how to do one off of a wall
I'm going to have to see some photographic evidence of this. :)
During this period of time I am focusing on fishing. A hobby I love and never have time for.
I bought a ukulele about a year ago and I've recently started to actually try and learn it.
During this quarantine i have decided to learn how to fabricate metal. I got a jib at Vintage Iron Designs and have been learning and improving everyday.
During this time, I have been working on fishing, I never have time to do it as much as I would like, but now i have all the time in the world.
I've been able to spend a lot more time with my family and especially with my younger sister Ry. I've also been able to spend more time getting to know all the guys at the fire station I volunteer at and have had the opportunity to spend more time with my girlfriend.
I've been baking cookies and cake more often because I have the time for it. I'm getting better at it and the things I make don't taste that bad.
A hobby I've been trying to get back into is Skateboarding. I used to skate on the regular, but got busy with school and work. Now that I have extra time, I can go to the outdoor park or ride down the street. After going out few times, I was landing some nice kickflips and riding comfortably. I'll keep skating and putting in effort to see better results.
During this time that we now have I think that I might try to pick up cooking. Maybe I'll be able to cook something without nearly burning down the house for once.
During quarantine, I have been working on various coding projects, along with experimenting with new programming languages.
During quarantine I haven't really been working on anything just going to work and enjoying the time that I get off.
Since having more time I have been taking some of my old clothes that I don't where anymore and DIY them into things I would wear now. I would usually just take them to a place to sell them and since I can't do that I have been cutting, dying, or adding new things to them to fit my current style.
During this time, I have picked up baking. Me and my mom bake something almost everyday and it has been a great bonding experience.
I have been playing more video games in my free time. I have not been able to play video games because of school, band, and bowling. Now, with more time, I can play video games more often.
I’ve always loved fishing. I had been working 4 days a week on top of my school work that I had to do at home. Now I have a lot more time to go and have been going more recently and it brings back childhood memories.
I've always loved to ride dirtbikes but before the COVID-19 outbreak I had sold my old dirtbike and had not riden in quite some time. But last week I bought a new one with the money I have been saving since I had picked up more shifts at work since we've been out of school. I know find myself riding almost every day when the weather is nice outside.
I have always wanted to be more creative and start painting, during this this time off I have painted many different canvases.
I've always wanted to learn how to do magic card tricks but I never really had time to learn how. So now i'm looking up some YouTube videos and learning some. I'm not super great but it's getting better.
I used to embroider with my grandma a lot. It's a very tedious task and requires time and patience. Now that I have nothing but time, I'm starting to embroider again. I'm currently working on decorating a pair of jeans with cute little colorful stitching.
I've always wanted to constantly go outside and get better at basketball and now I can in my driveway with all this time.
I've taken up painting and decorating in my free time
I've recently started taking up more of an interest in music and trying different mashups and beats. I've learned to appreciate the chopped and screwed remix of certain songs.
I have picked back up my passion for working on my car and truck. When school was in session and with work I didn't really have time to work on my car or truck and now I do.
I have been working on cars to ensure our vehicles are in tip top shape incase of an emergency during this pandemic. We don't want our cars to fail in a time of crisis like this so I have gotten to replace sensors, wheel bearings or even worn out suspension components to ensure the safety of everyone when we have to leave to get toilet paper.
I would really like to pick up piano. I have already heard so much different pieces and have always wanted to pick up piano myself. I don't have a piano but whenever I was at youth group I would try to teach myself, going off a couple informative how-to videos and articles. The piano is the only instrument that has really caught my attention.
One hobby that I have been doing is fishing. I have always enjoyed it but with work and school I wasnt able to go like I used to but now Im going very regularly before and after work.
I have always loved to draw and I am glad to have more time to be able to better my skills now. I also am trying to do workouts to prepare myself for when this passes. My goal is to have my splits when this is over.
Since school has been out I have been able to work with my uncle more with concrete. Ive been able to spend a lot more time at becoming better at pouring concrete with all the extra time. Its a hard job but its also a hobby.
Since most of my time was taken up by basketball after band season, this covid break has given me the chance to build my chops back up and get ready for marching season at purdue.
I used to draw a lot but when I stopped taking an art class I fell out of it and I've been wanting to start drawing again but again I feel like I have no motivation to do so.
Since we've been out of school I've begun teaching myself how to crochet and so far I've made a few scarves and I've started making a blanket as a gift for my partner's mom.
A passion of mine is fishing and I wish to fish much more during this time off.
Something that I'd always like to try is skateboarding. I have been skate boarding plenty of times before but I wish I was good enough to do tricks and cool things other than just ride it. Hopefully once quarantine is over I can invest in a skateboard and make that happen.
I have always wanted to try and build some old school model car kits. My grandpa still has a bunch of his that he built when he was my age. They always fascinated me and I imagine I'd feel very accomplished after spending weeks to paint and build one.
I've always want to learn Archery, its an old and time tested sport that I've always wanted to use for hunting but never been ever to really ever try because I only hunt small game.
I haven't had much time to do pick us new skills, I've just been working for the most part.
A hobby that I have gotten back into was Chess. It was something I did constantly with my brother but as school happened and work we barely played, but with the quarantine we can play a lot more!
I don't have any real hobbies but with all this new free time, I have chosen to gain more experience in the workforce and I am now working 2 jobs which are completely different from each other. This has allowed me to add to my resume as well as make a few extra bucks.
A lost hobby that I had was doing DIY projects. Through the course of quarantine, I have rekindled my love with it. I took my old, blue dresser and sanded it down, painted it white, stained the top to match my new nightstand, and bought new handles. I have also helped my step mom re-do our kitchen completely.
Since I've had so much free time, an abundance of my time has gone to remote controlled gas powered vehicles. Growing up my dad has had 3 of them and his fastest one reached 70 MPH. Considering the remote controlled vehicle weighs no more than 20lbs, 70 MPH is really fast. You can manually install upgrades and other enhancements to the vehicle. Starting price for a good one is around 500$!
I have been doing a few projects. I have recently redone a grill smoker.
